This year's Giving Tuesday Campaign has become one to remember, as well as one to be felt in the community for many years to come. Giving Tuesday began this year with a partnership between the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation and DeSalvo Construction, two organizations that believe in the power and importance of community.
For Giving Tuesday, DeSalvo promised to match every donation for the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation, matching all the way up to $25,000. This was a promise that delivered and then we were gifted once more. Nearing towards the final days of the Giving Tuesday Campaign, DeSalvo Construction made the generous decision to match an additional $25,000. For the campaign, they raised $178,331.69, not including the $50,000 match. Including the match, it was a grand total of $288,331.69!
Every dollar raised stays local, supporting families and everyone in between, from baby to bubbe, with services, resources, and critical programs that the community members depend on. The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation and DeSalvo Construction have expressed an overflowing thank you to everyone who supported and donated for Giving Tuesday, and the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation is, and always will be, grateful for the support and generosity shown from DeSalvo Construction. The efforts achieved during this year's Giving Tuesday will last for many months and years to come.
Community is strongest when we come together, and this year's Giving Tuesday success is a testament to that.
